Hoo boy. I've marked this as needing attention, as this strikes me as yet another WP:INDISCRIMINATE clusterfuck where the existence of ref tags constitutes the ONLY common thread tying anything together. I highlighted the above text for a reason. As I read it many years ago, Yesler was a 19th-century demarcation point originally between two homesteads, which later developed into Seattle and what was then a separate community to the south. The offset intersections are likely the only clue of this early history which exists today, and even many of those were reconstructed. I also recall from reading that it was the 1889 fire which began the elimination of these distinctions, as Seattle mostly rebuilt south of Yesler. Questions for (Seattle) civil engineers: I have to ask, why is it safe to have long term parked cars on Seattle Yesler Bridge over Interstate 5 freeway? Wouldn't the bridge be subject to creep deformation? --Conrad Kilroy (talk) 22:34, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
