Amel Bouchoucha

Unclear sentence

It also isn't set up to automatically update the number of years based on the date of access for the reader, so someone reading this sentence 15 years from today will think the change in understanding of the song's origin happened today. This is called relative time stamping, not sure exactly what Wikipedia uses to name this, but language like this should never ever be used in an encyclopedia unless it's embedded in a dynamic way that computes the relative time based on access time for the reader. Even then, it's still a bad idea, since now if you print the article out and put it in a personal archive to be read years later, the information is incorrect without the context of when the article was accessed/printed. But at least that would make more sense that way rather than how the author just writes in absolute terms "until the past 15 years". ~2026-38966-81 (talk) 04:41, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

Also, addendum: I just realized now that I am responding to a comment left April 2018. Hah! It's now 2026, so even if the sentence in question was written the same day as the comment, we now need that 15 years to be adjusted by at least 8 years, and very likely more than that, but we have no idea how much to adjust because we cannot find the citation that tells us when the "revelation" occurred. ~2026-38966-81 (talk) 04:43, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
