I have a source on WP.fr:Miao du Xiangxi occidental (western standard based on the speech of Layiping) for the phonology. And yes [l] is missing and /y/ stands for [ʑ]. Dhegiha (talk) 21:34, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
Rename?

@Stevey7788: I don't know. Isn't there more than one variety of Miao in Xiangxi? What's non-neutral or confusing about 'Xong'? — kwami (talk) 22:03, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
- Western Xiangxi Miao = Xiong, and Eastern Xiangxi Miao call themselves something like "Suang." One editor kept removing all the Eastern Xiangxi Miao stuff from this article, which should not be done if he's not going to create a new article for it. — Stevey7788 (talk) 19:17, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
I see he also deleted all the names from the Western lit that he didn't like. That's simply disruptive. I think dealing with one editor might be preferable to trying to accommodate him by guessing what he might accept.
