This page requires significant alteration in support of readability. Also, there are serious questions about accuracy and citations. Ma Xinyi was stabbed -- there are no questions about who the assassin was, only whether he acted alone. The dates of disbanding the army should be added, as well as the problems had following the victory over the Taiping with soldiers owed back pay.
