Warning?

[edit]

The following was moved from the article page for discussion. What are the specific concerns? WBardwin (talk) 22:26, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Warning: this page is mostly conjectural.
I don't know what the specific concerns were, but I would guess that it's because this is a fairly technically detailed article with (until today) absolutely no sources cited at all. I added two sources (SGI TPL links) where citation was requested, one because it took about 30 seconds to find on Google and one because I had just read the same thing recently and knew where to look. Both of them only deal with very specific parts of the article (and the first may not even address the concern regarding the use and type of STL). I'm sure that the details contained here were published in documentation for the few manufacturers of XIO cards, but it seems plausible that this documentation was never publicly available. One thing that does seem odd to me, though, is that the "mostly conjectural" warning is there even on the earliest available revision of this page. It hardly seems likely that details like clock rate or micropacket structure are pure conjecture! Vykk (talk) 04:48, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
