Multivariate?

The formula currently proposed as a multivariate extension

$p_{w}({\vec {\theta }})=\sum _{k_{1},...,k_{F}=-\infty }^{\infty }{p({\vec {\theta }}+2\pi k_{1}\mathbf {e} _{1}+\dots +2\pi k_{F}\mathbf {e} _{F})}$

defines a distribution on the $n$-dimensional torus, not on the $n$-sphere. Compare with formula (1.1) in Hartman & Watson, ""Normal" distribution functions on spheres and the modified Bessel functions", Annals of Probability, 1974, Vol. 2, No. 4, 593-60.
