NPOV

[edit]

It would appear that the creator or subsequent editor/s holds a certain point of view that is anti the outgames.Asm1964 06:40, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is quite obvious if you read both this article and Gay Games that there is a NPOV issue. There is pertinent facts which are omitted here and the introduction (probably too long) focuses too much on the initial schism and includes content that should probably be put further down under separate headings... Gay Games Confusion

[edit]

If it is the author(s) intent not to confuse the reader, as stated in the first sentence of the third paragraph. Why are both articles for the World Outgames and Gay Games written so similarly? The trivia section, for example, states trivia for both organizations. Both articles should be rewritten. I would do so myself, but I am not familiar with the two organizations.IceBRG (talk) 01:41, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merge proposal

[edit]

I propose merging Outgames into World_Outgames. They are both referring to the same organization, but the Outgames page appears to be created for a school project in 2012, while this page was created in 2006 and contains much more information. Raccoon428 20:49, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Such a merger is hindered by the information about the North America Outgames contained in Outgames. Merging into Outgames would be possible. Nevertheless, I think all these articles should be updated and reviewed for neutrality.
1. As someone mentioned above, there are signs of bias. For example, rather than highlighting the debt at Montreal, it could explore whether the Montreal Outgames would have been profitable had not the Gay Games been run two weeks earlier. What can be said about the schism in retrospect? I know little, but it seems control was put ahead of the interests of the athletes. Still the Olympics have "issues" too.
2. The result of the Miami investigation isn't included.
3. It is written as if the Vancouver games are imminent.
4. Gay Games and 2006 Gay Games seem to shuffle the controversy aside
The Paralympics are firmly established. The Gay Games are not. The participation of transgender athletes continues to evolve. With greater acceptance, such as in ballroom dancing, perhaps the Gay Games will fade away. Humpster (talk) 05:04, 3 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
