Kim Lyon book/Heathcliff theory

[edit]

I have removed reference to the theory Sutton's grandfather, Richard Sutton (1782-1851) was the model for Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights. This theory dates back to a self-published book by Kim Lyon, ironically the unreliable family history website does a pretty good job of debunking this. There is some coverage of the existence of Lyon's theory in the Yorkshire Post and an old edition of the Observer, but they don't mention William so mention here would probably be classed as WP:OR. I thought I would add the actual page of the Sutton family website where the Heathcliff question is discussed, to this talkpage, as it may be helpful for people in the future. As I say, it's a nice bit of work, albeit not WP:RS.--Boynamedsue (talk) 06:55, 24 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
