I note the page says he served in WWI but the infobox ends his military service in 1913. Also he may have had a further promotion if one is to believe the book Shropshire Cricketers 1844-1998 (published 1999) which gives his military title as Brigadier-General, one rank higher than the full Colonel the article keeps him at. (It could have been that he retired in 1913 on reaching normal peacetime retirement age but was recalled when WWI broke out following year and then gained promotion in command.)Cloptonson (talk)

Hi - The London Gazette in May 1919 still shows him as a Colonel. He may have been promoted to brigadier-general on an acting basis at some point. Best wishes, Dormskirk (talk) 09:49, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
