Aesthetic judgement in description

Since Willets mass in the range 200-330g, less than 1 lb, its clear that Wikipedia's description, "a relatively large and robust sandpiper", "inelegant and heavily built" reflects a human imitation of bird aesthetic standards. AllAboutBirds describe them as "large, stocky shorebirds with long legs and thick, straight bills", slightly less judgemental. They live for up to 10 years so "large", "robust", and "stocky" are sensible, but "inelegant" is a stretch. IMHO. Billabbott (talk) 20:21, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

proposed replacement of infobox photo

The current photo was FP back in 2007, but there are higher quality images now. I'd like to replace it with either this or this one. But I'd prefer not to do this unilaterally. Thanks Pdanese (talk) 19:29, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
