Improper comparison of flood depth and height above sea level in Geology

[edit]

The Geology section that discusses the depth of the flooding should not contain the altitude above sea level of various cities and locations in the surrounding area. The flooding depth is measured in depth of water, not altitude above sea level. References to the heights of tall buildings compared to the depth of the water make sense, but not the altitude above sea level of cities. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.181.27.246 (talk • contribs) 01:22, 8 September 2010

The coordinates and attributes look okay to me. What is the issue? —EncMstr (talk) 21:13, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've emended the coordinates to center them better in the valley (and removed "type:landmark" which was inapplicable with the use of the dim parameter to size the Google Maps display). Deor (talk) 03:28, 5 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Sports" section

[edit]

The "Sports" section of this article is pretty silly in its current form. It mentions one team that uses "Willamette Valley" in their team name, mentions two schools with "Willamette" in their name, then randomly mentions the University of Oregon.

If the section is just about teams with "Willamette" in their name, then the reference to University of Oregon should be removed, and the focus should be made clearer, e.g. in the section title or the first sentence of the section.

If it's about sports in the Willamette Valley more generally, then the article should mention the pro teams in Portland, all of the universities with athletic programs, the minor league and collegiate summer league baseball teams throughout the valley, etc.

However, maybe it should just be removed completely? It seems rather superfluous to the article and doesn't include any references. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Walkie (talk • contribs) 22:17, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
