Marcus Wood comment erroneous? (section Design)
[edit]Marcus Wood is quoted as describing the Wilberforce Monument as one that "mimics" Nelson's Column. However, as the Wilberforce Monument was completed in 1835 and proposals to erect Nelson's Column were enacted in 1838, leading to the Column's completion in 1843, that cannot chronologically be the case as mimic means to copy. Ironically Nelson (as House of Lords member) had been an opponent of Wilberforce's anti-slavery campaign.Cloptonson (talk) 20:02, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
