Hi, I'll take a look at this article within the next couple of days or so. The article is fairly short so it shouldn't take long. λ NegativeMP1 07:51, 27 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Prose

[edit]
  • I would swap out "Escape room" in the genre infobox field for "Point-and-click adventure game" (or just Adventure game). Consistency with the lead and rest of the article in terms of actually describing the game.
  • A bit of information about the gameplay itself in the lead would be helpful.
  • "There is also a basic inventory" → "There is also a basic inventory system"
  • A lot of wikilinks are missing that I think would help out with people unfamiliar with video game terminology.
  • "The game autosaves at the end of every chapter, as it is not possible to save progress between its six chapters" Wording here feels a bit off. Might be better to say "The game autosaves the player's progress at the end of every chapter; it is not possible to manually save progress in the middle of the chapters"?
  • "Rena would join the narrative development team of A Space for the Unbound" seems like trivia, how does it relate to the development of When the Past Was Around?
  • "The game was published on the platforms from December 16 to 18, 2020" I think it'd help to specify which version was released on each date in the process considering the exact dates are used in the infobox.
  • I would mention the Metacritic scores in the prose and how many critic reviews were used for each rating, but that's personal preference.

Media

[edit]
  • There is only one image used in this article, and it's the game's box art. This is fine.

Sourcing

[edit]
  • Almost every source currently used in the article is reliable.
  • I would reword each instance of "Reviewers [...]" as it could be seen as WP:SYNTH by generalization all critic opinions. Even a simple substitution with "Some reviewers" or "Many reviewers" would be fine.
  • WP:VG/S lists Gamezebo's post-2016 content as generally unreliable. While this is a review and the quality concerns that gave Gamezebo the status it has now are based on their game guide content, I would strongly recommend either removing the source unless you have a case for its specific use here.
  • Including citations to specific areas of the game in certain cases when a game's plot is seemingly unclear at certain parts is a smart move and I commend it.
  • Spotchecked certain uses of references #2, #4, and #7. No source-text integrity issues found from what I can tell.

Final comments

[edit]

This is overall a nice and small, yet well-written and researched article. I don't have too many complaints. I'll place this on hold for now. λ NegativeMP1 23:57, 27 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello @NegativeMP1, I just worked on most of the points. You can check them for further xomments. For the Space for the Unbound mention, the only things in common are the developer and producer, but as it's not related to the article, I removed the sentence. For the Gamezebo source, I'll try to find points on gameplay from other reviews that can replace the Gamezebo source. I tried exhausting what I can search in my browser and WP:VG/SE while searching for reviews, so it might take some time.
I understand if the time it'll take can be a lot, but I don't mind spotchecking to help improve the article. RFNirmala (talk) 04:36, 28 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
@RFNirmala: any updates or progress? λ NegativeMP1 04:30, 7 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
@NegativeMP1 Replaced the Gamezebo source with a gameplay-related review. From Nintendo Life, It's not entirely dissimilar to a hidden object game, in fact, but everything's tied together very nicely in a way that removes the abstract, arbitrary feeling you sometimes get from that genre. @NegativeMP1 Pinging again just in case the previous notification just drowned RFNirmala (talk) 02:13, 13 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, the notification from your most previous comment got buried, I'm sorry. It seems that the only thing Gamezebo is being used for now is as a review and citing one opinionated statement. While maybe not a reliable source at this point, it's something that could be easily ripped out and I'm not inclined to hold the nomination from passing simply because of it. I'll do that soon. λ NegativeMP1 21:50, 13 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
@NegativeMP1 Pinging again in case you forgot to add a comment or pass this GAN. I understand that you're working on projects aside from this, but we can decongest the video game GAN list. I have no plan on bringing a DYK, anyways. RFNirmala (talk) 10:41, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
I forgot about this nomination to be fully honest, I'm sorry. I went ahead and removed the reference to Gamezebo per VG/S. I think that's all. I'll be passing this, good job and I'm sorry for the wait. λ NegativeMP1 17:53, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
