Stolen Text

This articles says "When handled adults often vocalize (sounds like a peeping chick) while struggling." However, USGS.gov says the same exact thing. If that site is monitored and owned by the government, I highly doubt that they would have stolen it from Wikipedia. Click here to see what I mean, in the "Additional Notes" section.

Anaxyrus

Zenyn (talk · contribs) changed some occurrences of Anaxyrus to Bufo and introduced inconsistencies. I reverted, but the article as written is inconsistent with Anaxyrus, Bufo and about 14 of 18 species articles that use Bufo or both for the genus. Does anyone object to using Bufo throughout this article? --Walter Siegmund (talk) 00:51, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Range

I think the information on their range in Alaska is incorrect. These are known to live in the Fairbanks area, significantly farther north than indicated. I don't have a ref handy to back that up, but I have seen and handled these as far north as the road just outside Chena Hot Springs. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:27, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

Peak egg-laying

There is a slight contradiction in the Life Cycle section (fourth paragraph):

1. "Eggs are laid in open water from February to July, with peak activity occurring in April."
2. "Eggs are usually laid in late May or early June."

These two statements are attributed to separate sources which I am unable to access. Recommend either condensing into a single statement broader in range, or eliminating the less authoritative of the two. Doorjamb (talk) 22:32, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
