Boy, there's a lot of NPOV and citation problems in this article. Does all of this come from the "Last Western Flyer" book? 12.159.66.29 (talk) 20:02, 26 January 2010 (UTC) Marlin and Savage are not Western Auto labels. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.224.104.76 (talk) 18:12, 27 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Larry Lilly

[edit]

I worked for Western Auto for 17 years and I have never heard of Larry Lilly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ellis Gossett (talkcontribs) 19:50, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

advanced auto parts

[edit]

shouldn't there be some mention that Western Auto is now Advanced Auto Parts? Or is that not a fact? 76.24.213.248 (talk) 06:02, 17 February 2009 (UTC) No they are not now Advance Auto Parts, my husbands grandfather own's the one in Whitesberg, KY and it is still Western Auto's there is nothing from the store connecting them to Advanced Autos. They carry tires, oil, etc. The one in Whitesberg, KY does not carry ammo or guns, just vehicle parts and accessories. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.80.204.14 (talk) 01:51, 23 March 2012 (UTC) Actually, Advance Auto Parts did purchase Western Auto and ordered all "Associate Stores"(franchises) to cease using the name back in the mid-2000s. Technically your husband's grandfather is operating under the Western Auto name illegally. Advance Auto Parts still owns and restricts use of the Western Auto name. We'll be good to you! Western Auto; and use of name

[edit]

The Use of Name section appears to have much original research; for example, one cannot find the words (or tone) such as "ordered to cease operations, forbidden, illegally, infringing and enforces infringements" in the two (2) cited references (11) & (12).

Also, no mention of the catchy slogan dating back to 1919, "We'll be good to you! Western Auto".  Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.183.224.2 (talk) 00:39, 26 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
