The article was created on August 16 and nominated the following day, and is long enough. It is substantial, neutral in tone, and extensively cited. I found no obvious sourcing or presentability problems. The nominated image is used in the article and is identified on Commons as public domain under the Hong Kong government copyright provisions. QPQ has been completed. The original hook is interesting and within the 200 character limit, and the hook fact is cited directly in the article. However, the cited source (Wiltshire, p. 32), does not appear to be readily accessible online. Could the nominator please provide a scan, screenshot, quotation, or other accessible copy of the relevant passage so that I can verify the hook? Once that is available, I expect this should be ready to approve. Separately, I also noticed that this article appears to be a translation (or close translation), of the Chinese Wikipedia article 班絲, which was created by the same editor in May. English Wikipedia's translation guidance requires attribution to the source article in an edit summary. I don't see such attribution in the English article's creation history. Could you please add the appropriate translation attribution, and preferably {{Translated page}} to the talk page as well? Alekjds (talk) 20:36, 21 August 2026 (UTC)
- Alekjds, thank you for your favourable review! Based on your comment, I have added the translation template to the talk page. As for the source of the hook, I am more than happy to append below an extract from the source. Should you have any other comments, please feel free to let me know. Cheers.--Clithering (talk) 16:21, 22 August 2026 (UTC)
She remembers one rather agonising incident when she was making a live broadcast on an occasion when Princess Margaret attended a Government House garden party.
NIGHTMARE
"The Princess had not been well and arrived 40 minutes late. They were some of the worst 40 minutes of my life... something of a broadcaster's nightmare.
"But I just kept on adlibbing desperately, and then, just to make it easier, it started to rain!"

Thanks, @Clithering: the supplied extract verifies the hook, and the translation attribution has now been added. All DYK criteria are met. Alekjds (talk) 06:43, 24 August 2026 (UTC)

- Comment Do present-day reliable secondary sources use "Wendy Dorothy Orchard"? See WP:COMMONNAME and WP:NAMECHANGES. 162 etc. (talk) 15:53, 2 October 2026 (UTC)
- "Wendy Dorothy Orchard" appeared in her death notice and probate notice only. I recall that all the other published sources, including the two books that I've heavily cited, use "Wendy Barnes". Thank you. Clithering (talk) 08:06, 3 October 2026 (UTC)
