Distinctions

[edit]

what is the difference a mig welder and a tig welder????

This link should help. Also, have a look at metal inert gas welding and tungsten inert gas welding. Addhoc 15:09, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

List of notable welders

[edit]

I made this list from Category:Welders before it was deleted.

See Talk:List of electricians for a similar list, which was kept after Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of electricians. – Fayenatic London 09:58, 8 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Questionable terminology

[edit]

The term welder refers to the operator, the machine is referred to as the welding power supply.

Not according to Lincoln Electric. In their welding courses they used to offer to aspiring tradesmen, the "welding power supply" was referred to as the welder and the person doing the welding was referred to as the weldor.

Why does this page exist as anything other than a redirect?

[edit]

Welding exists and can contain all of the information that is here. In fact, the only information that isn't duplicated is the list of notable welders, which can probably be its own page or category. 100.40.29.79 (talk) 09:58, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
