GNU social use of WebFinger
[edit]No citation is needed for uncontroversial statements of fact, so I am removing the "citation needed" notice. As it says on WP's GNU social article, it was a continuation of StatusNet, for which the OStatus protocol was invented. If you look at the WP article for OStatus, WebFinger was a component of the protocol.
