@SenshiSun and TheBritinator: - I'm concerned this hook could be challenged as not meeting WP:DYKINT. Lots of novels - particularly notable ones - are award finalists, so what makes this situation intriguing to a general reader? The novel itself sounds very interesting, could an ALT be proposed? @Zzz plant: I did admittedly have similar concerns at first. I'm not big on novels, so I didn't know what a PEN/Falkner Award is, but it turns out its apparently quite prestigious.
