I copyedited out some of the article's most obvious deficiencies, but the overall quality is still not very good. The water capacitor seems to be a mostly a historical scientific curiosity and amateur experimental device. I think the topic is notable, but the article has a lot of content about capacitors in general, and not enough specific relevant coverage. Reify-tech (talk) 19:07, 19 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have removed some of the more general stuff and linked instead to the main capacitor article. Water caps certainly are used, but are really a high voltage laboratory object, rather than a viable alternative to the sort of ceramic and polypropylene things in modern consumer electronics. For megavolts and nanofarads they are unbeaten - if you have the pumps, deionizers and all the rest of the support stuff you need, oh and don't mind it being bolted to the floor.
