Rate Attribute Review Comment
1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct. Looks good. Full copyedit completed.
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
2. Verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose). The phrase They are sometimes called "the living tractor of the East". needs a citation as per WP:WTC.  Done

Citation spot check completed. Reference 74 is a YouTube video which should probably be removed or replaced.  Done

2c. it contains no original research.
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism. Earwig found:
  • A site copying article's content with attribution.
  • A site with 94% similarity published in June 2021. Comparing the site with a revision of the article from before the site was published shows much of the same content as the present article that was found in the site. I'm satisfied this site has copied large portions of the article's content and not the other way around.
  • No other detected copyvio issues.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content. All images tagged and valid.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions. Images are mostly good, but perhaps more detail could be added to the captions, for example the captions Skull, In the water and Wallowing in mud etc. could be expanded to include the specific species of buffalo (river or swamp) to add clarity.  Done
7. Overall assessment. All criteria satisfied, article has passed.

Many thanks. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:19, 13 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Review completed. @Chiswick Chap: This article looks good to me, pending the couple of things I've mentioned in the table above (thanks for adding that citation earlier). Let me know when those couple issues are sorted and I'll wrap this up! SnowyRiver (talk) 09:08, 13 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

SnowyRiver28: All done to date. Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:01, 13 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
