In my opinion this short article should be improved. It lacks proper and reliable references. For instance, it states that the population is about 246,000 in 2011 without giving a source, yet the 2019 population census in Kenya gives a population of only 65,975 for these people. KNBS, 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, Volume IV: 243. Moreover, the text confuses the Wardey with the Warra Daya. Warra Daya is an old name used for the Oromo people by the Somali. Whether the term Wardey at one time was used for all the Warra Daya or not is unclear, but since the forties of 20th century the term Wardey refers to Orma descendants who were clientized by the Somali in the 19th century and who later back-migrated to the Tana Orma. Schlee, Who are the Tana Orma, 1992: 4 and Kelly, H. 1992. In the Kenya census, the Wardey (Wardei) are listed as a sub-group of the Orma. Jerome KL (talk) 19:12, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Warday origin

[edit]

Its come to my attention that this group was part of the Harla people or associated with them. Most groups with the title "War" are considered inducted separate groups and can be found among the Oromo/Somali. Magherbin (talk) 09:44, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

They are not Harla and have no association with them. Their origin is already known. Replayerr (talk) 21:08, 6 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
