Wanganui Astronomical Society members are proud of the still useful Thomas Cook refractor telescope. We have changed it only as cosmetics; the eye pieces and electrics have been updated. Operating the Ward Observatory by appointment or on the clear Friday nights the society has grown with the addition of a 22inch and a 8inch dobsonian telescope and uses a dark sky sight for better seeing.
