World Wrestling Entertainment

[edit]

Does WWE really belong here? Perhaps a reword such as

World Wrestling Federation - now known as World Wrestling Entertainment

would be better - NickSentowski 05:44, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

no i think wwf should redirect to wwe 172.82.7.211 (talk) 19:22, 2 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Words With Friends

[edit]

Apparently some iOS game is named "words with friends", I don't doubt that, but I doubt it's notable enough even for a disambiguation page. Is this game ever referred to with this acronym rather than it's full title? Larryisgood (talk) 12:33, 19 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

It does have an article (Words With Friends), but I don't see any indication that it's being referred to as WWF. Not that I'm completely opposed to it being added here, just not sure if it would be all that helpful. — Satori Son 12:56, 19 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I deleted it. This isn't a page for all the things one can possibly acronym to WWF. Also, I don't think words like "with" or "the" are included in an acronym so "words with friends" should just be WF Larryisgood (talk) 19:55, 19 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
It's commonly shortened to #WWF on Twitter, though i doubt that is a reliable source. hbdragon88 (talk) 22:00, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
are two instances where I found it shortened to WWF. hbdragon88 (talk) 22:06, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Right, yes I deleted the link to words with friends because I reckoned it was irrelevant but we'll not fall out over it, feel free to undo my edit. Larryisgood (talk) 07:54, 23 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Neither the article or the game publisher assert that is is also known as "WWF", and yet I'm getting 668k searches, so I'm a bit neutral on the issue. The Words With Friends article should probably add something like "popularly known as WWF" so that editors here don't delist it due to a lack of assertion. +mt 20:39, 23 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

WWFWWF (disambiguation)

World Wide Fund for NatureWWF

I think the current WWF article should be for the World Wide Fund for Nature, all other WWFs are quite minor compared to the Fund, it doesn't make sense they should have so much prominence. WWF also use "WWF" over their full name in most of their content. The existing WWF page should be renamed to WWF (disambiguation). The World Wide Fund for Nature is the most prominent WWF and uses "WWF" in most of its content, meeting WP:COMMONNAME. Icaldonta (talk) 22:43, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
