As a former WDKS AND former WSTO-er, I see the articles on both stations less than fair. While, at least technically, the WSTO aticle is factual, it was obviously written by somebody who has an opinion to offer as well as the facts. Perhaps a former Brill employee, since the author of the article also penned articles on all three former Brill-Owensboro stations.

What the WSTO article doesn't tell readers is that "we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto." No station gets a 30 share anymore --- it's virtually impossible. And the fact that WSTO has never entered double digits since it's decline under Brill does not indicate that the station has never recovered from it's once-ruined state. After the "HOT 96" relaunch, the station has, undeniably, returned a market leader on par with WIKY and WKDQ. And by the way, WIKY AND WKDQ BARELY have double digit shares.

As for the WDKS article; it's simply unfactual. 106.1 KISSFM soared with greatness at one time. The ratings will tell you that WDKS' greatness began to subside in 2002 and hit rock bottom in 2006. For a time, the station just sounded bad. Bad music, bad talent, bad processing, etc... however, I believe the tide has begun to turn. With the addition of Keith Curry as PD, KISS is sounding HOT (no pun intended) again, whereas HOT, traumatized by extremely high turnover (almost a complete staff), is... well... not so hot.
