Sign-Off

Do they still sign off the air on Sunday nights? If so, when? 173.20.81.165 (talk) 04:20, 27 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Call sign change

[edit]

@VenezuelanSpongeBobFan2004: The FCC public file for this station already uses the call sign WABE-TV and the Call Sign Desk shows it as having taken effect on January 18 . That is the basis on which I moved the page. The change has not yet posted to LMS, though. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 18:44, 21 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have moved the page back after remembering something that happened last year. In the FCC LMS at one point in April 2021, the newly renamed KAUU showed up as "KYES-TV", its former call sign, in LMS. I wrote to Mark Colombo at the FCC to report the issue. He noted this:
The call sign system doesn't talk directly to LMS, and someone must have forgotten to make sure it was copied over.
Because there is no automatic updating of call signs from the call sign system into LMS, if there is a discrepancy between the FCC Call Sign Desk and LMS, the former should be preferred over the latter. The call sign is WABE-TV, but LMS is not yet updated. That should not preclude a move when the station call sign is reported to have changed in other FCC systems.
