Vympel

[edit]

As far as I know the "Vympel" group existed before it recieved it's name. It was decided to create a permament group after 1979 operation of capturing the presedentual palace in Afghanistan. Which showed that it is necessary to have a permament group of that nature --DimaY2K 09:07, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Spetztekhnika Vympel NPO

[edit]

Is this the same Vympel as the missile design bureau (Spetztekhnika Vympel NPO)? The articles about various of their missiles link here, but somehow I doubt the two Vympels are related. Especially since there is no reference to missiles in this article. - Dammit 17:05, 23 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I personally have the same suspicion as Dammit above... I think it'd be better to turn Vympel into a disambiguation page with links to Vympel / Vega Group and to Vympel NPO respectively... - Blueshade 08:15, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Armed Forces or KGB?

[edit]

Which is correct? I have now been the second person to revert the change in the infobox from "under the Soviet Armed Forces until 1991, since then under the Russian Federation Armed Forces" to "under the KGB until 1991". Please explain the change and/or why it is incorrect. --Yngvadottir (talk) 13:13, 3 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Hey, for some reason the logo/picture of the article hasn't changed in a lot of languages. The one posted is the Soviet one, shouldn't the current logo be posted (Like in Gruppa Alfa)? I personally found the SSI (patch) of Vympel in a photo, would this work? - Brognor (talkcontribs) 01:39, 24 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Vympel other languages

[edit]

The German and Dutch pages which were linked in the intro is something else and is not related to this page. For example the Dutch page talks about a Flags and nothing about this Russian military unit. Shadow4dark (talk) 07:57, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
