[edit]

Per the history of VodafoneThree Holdings on Companies House:

  • "Vodafone UK Trading Holdings Limited" was formed on 30 May 2023
  • after a period of dormancy, on 2 September 2024 it became the parent of Vodafone Limited, ie Vodafone UK (according to the accounts filed in Nov 2024)
  • on 28 May 2025 it was renamed "VodafoneThree Holdings Limited"
  • on 31 May 2025 (the day the merger completed) it became the parent of Hutchison 3G UK Holdings Limited (Three UK's immediate parent company)

Given recent edits, I put it that this article is primarily about the merger and the company after the completion of the merger. For comparison, we also have an article on EE (telecommunications) - technically the legal entity "Everything Everywhere Limited" (now EE Limited) was a rename of T-Mobile (UK) Limited and was originally formed in 1989, but in the article about the merged company we focus on the company from the point of the merger. @Tidistruggo: I see you left a message on my talk page - I think it's worth having the conversation here on the article talk page for the visibility of all editors. :) Andreworkney (talk) 11:11, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Incidentally, I note a separate company currently named "Vodafone Distribution Holdings Limited" was previously named "VodafoneThree Holdings Limited" from the 1st of April until the 28th of May - as such, although the current company with that name is technically a legal continuation of Vodafone UK Trading Holdings, it may still be inaccurate to claim that it's the same company. Ultimately, though, "VodafoneThree" was formed as a concept by the merger completing regardless of when the legal entities were technically registered - a reliable source calls it "newly formed" here Andreworkney (talk) 14:42, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh ok well actually you're right. Sorry for the inconvenience. Tidistruggo (talk) 08:23, 9 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
