Legendary performance?

The article said (until I just deleted it) that he gave a "legendary performance" by "salvaging" a 3-3 tie while getting outshot 38-13... Goaltenders in today's NHL make over 35 saves and give up less goals often. If anything, the most impressive part was his teammates scoring 3 goals on 13 shots. Maybe you should actually know something about hockey before changing articles. During Tretiak's career, goalies played stand-up and had signifigantly smaller padding. As a reult, there were more goals scored and save percentages were lower. I'm changing it back.

Error

The Soviets did not win the silver medal. USSR lost to the US team in the semifinal round. The Soviets then won the bronze medal match.

Medal record

In 1978 USSR won the world championship according to the IIHF website. The wikipedia-site about that championship mentions them as world champions too, but gives the european championship to Czechoslovakia, so something seems to be mixed up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Enterich (talk • contribs) 17:35, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Lake Placid hyperlink
