There is an translation of the Turkish nickname of Vlad the Impaler that is wrong. It should be 'Impaler Voivode' but its 'Impaler Lord'. I want to correct that mistranslation. Oznmtclk (talk) 19:34, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

I am a turkish speaking person. There is an online Turkish-English Dictionary (Tureng) that translates Voivode into Voyvoda. The title Lord doesn't get translated into Turkish. It stays as lord. The part that it want to change is in the Name part. Its in the second paragraph.

'The Ottoman writer Tursun Beg referred to him as Kazıklı Voyvoda (Impaler Lord) around 1500.' You can see that it translates Kazıklı Voyvoda to Impaler Lord. I want to change 'Impaler Lord' to 'Impaler Voivode'. Oznmtclk (talk) 16:12, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

 Not done I can see why you would want to change it because of the translation from English into Turkish. However, considering the audience of English Wikipedia, the purpose of the translated name in parenthesis being to clarify the meaning of the term for English speakers and the link to the article for Voivode immediately preceding the proposed change I think the sentence is good as is. Its not Drăculea

Its not Drăculea , it is either Dracu' or Dracul if we talk gramatically correct. There is no Drăculea word or name in the romanian vocabulary. Yesrlly (talk) 17:46, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
