Transfer from Verbenaceae to Lamiaceae

[edit]

I looked up Vitex in a google scholar search, and most recent papers (not quite all) did seem to indeed class it in the Lamiaceae rather than the Verbenaceae. But it would be good if we could cite this with respect to when (seems to be 2000 plus or minus some years based on glancing at the dates of the papers), and with a cite to the paper which reclassified it (and/or anything else which will explain what is going on in moderate detail). I'll ask again. Anyone got a reference for who moved it or when? There was a recent edit which changed the family of one of the species, and I am somewhat reluctant to change it back unless I have more solid data. I've added what I found as references, but I'd gladly see those replaced by a real monograph or journal article. Kingdon (talk) 05:50, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
