Did I get this right that it's basically about media selection and and not media sharing? If so this should be reflected in the lead, which I think should be made clearer in any way.

Also section titles like "Broadband video takes off" and "Social networking meets video" are suboptimal, those aren't informal titles.

In the section "Early examples of visual networking" YouTube and telepresence are named. However it's not explained how visual networking is happening on and/or with youtube and the prospects of telepresence for it.

And "Other visual networking applications" is also not a good section-title because it's not quite clear what "Other" is referring to here as it's not a subsection.

Also should this article be categorized with Category:Media sharing?
