The way in which the three evolutionary hypothesis are presented makes them seem mutually exclusive when, in fact, all three are at play. The evolution section still needs work and I am sure there are a lot more citations that could be added to this article. And there is also a mix of parasite and pathogen used in the article, which may confuse some readers. One day I will get round to a fuller edit of this article, but if anyone one else can help out in the meantime that would be great :-) Emble64 (talk) 17:03, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

Adult virulence?

Virulence and viruses

In the lead we say, "The term virulence does not only apply to viruses." But then we also have an entire section called "Virulent viruses."

If this state of affairs isn't contradictory, then it's at least baffling to innocent readers trying to make sense of the subject. What should be done to resolve the strange situation? I'm no expert, or I'd just do it myself. PaulTanenbaum (talk) 02:50, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
