VirtualLink Initial Adoption & impact in retrospect?

Just incase there ends up being disagreement after, I thought I'd broach the topic here first, it almost seems like the way its discussed might lead people to assume that it failed to get off the ground as an idea/at all (despite the references to Nvidia, AMD, and Sony USB-C implementations being somewhat compatible) As there were signs indicating otherwise in driver & firmware updates that all they had implemented VirtualLink ports though. Like for Nvidia patches addressing potential security concerns with VirtualLink & then removing implemented functionality later on. There were also ports (to be attached to end products) made available for manufacturers in batch quantities, and still end products that implemented & used VirtualLink. Which taken together implied that it did roll-out as a final workable product (even if Valve had struggles themselves with it in testing their implementations use-case) and just fell flat in reaching the intended goal ***after*** the release/rollout had already happened. I thought I should try to discuss before proposing major changes that might be worth making to the articles main page. I'll try to fix formatting and attach sources in a reply or edit after, it's just hard from the mobile app I use for testing Perhaps "Former" might be a better term for the standard as opposed to "failed" like HDMI-Over-USB was without any known products getting designed? There's also the similar advance in trying to bring a more advanced open USB-C Video standard out with GPMI (that's starting to get groundwork laid out in stuff like TV's too such as the HiSense UXQ & U8Q(T)/U8G which could be worth considering grouping all the cross-industry initiatives based on that common core factor/aspect together in a main category list page for those that would likely be looking for every project made for trying to achieve that kind of goal.
