Poor Title
[edit]The title for this page is very strange. In the field of visualization, people would call this a "display wall". - I have no citations but hopefully this helps anyway. A video wall is an array of screens operating as one to display a single program. A display wall is what you may find in a control room - multiple screens each displaying their own thing. --Kvng (talk) 23:14, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- Display wall is definitely the correct term for what this page is talking about— check the home pages for SAGE[1] and Chromium[2] as references. Resolution

Suggestion: Reclassify Jupiter Systems and update video wall controller section
[edit]I am a contractor working with Jupiter Systems, so I'm disclosing a conflict of interest and suggesting these changes for community review rather than editing directly.
Jupiter Systems is currently listed alongside Datapath and Matrox as a "specialized graphic cards" company in the article. This categorization is inaccurate - Jupiter is a dedicated video wall controller and processor manufacturer (founded 1981, Hayward, California) with over 40 years in the industry. The company does not manufacture graphics cards.
Suggested changes
[edit]1. In the "Video wall controller" section, Jupiter Systems should be reclassified from the graphics card grouping to the dedicated video wall controller/processor manufacturers. Jupiter's product range spans multiple architectures discussed in the article: FPGA-based controllers (J-Series), software-based Windows processors (Catalyst), and networked/distributed AV-over-IP systems (PixelNet), making it one of few manufacturers covering all three categories.
2. Jupiter's PixelNet product line holds JITC certification and is listed on the DoDIN Approved Products List for U.S. military and government use.

Suggestion: Add COB (Chip-on-Board) MicroLED technology to the article
[edit]I am a contractor working with Jupiter Systems (COI disclosure), but this suggestion is primarily about a technology category (COB MicroLED) that is currently absent from the article, not about any single manufacturer.
The article covers LED video walls but doesn't mention Chip-on-Board (COB) technology, which represents a significant manufacturing advancement over traditional Surface-Mount Device (SMD) LED panels. COB bonds LED chips directly to the PCB substrate rather than using individual packaged LEDs, resulting in improved durability, better thermal management, and higher pixel density.

"Chip-on-Board (COB) is a newer LED manufacturing approach for direct-view LED video walls in which LED chips are bonded directly to the printed circuit board substrate, eliminating the individual LED packages used in traditional surface-mount device (SMD) displays. COB technology offers improved reliability, as the LED chips are protected by an epoxy layer rather than being individually exposed. Several manufacturers have introduced COB-based video wall panels for professional applications."
