Conflict of interest disclosure

[edit]

I am Lorenza Cossutta, an unpaid volunteer contributor and active member of the Venice Tap Water project team. I am not an employee or a formal member of the associated legal entity, and I receive no compensation for my work. Because of this relationship, and because I am mentioned in the article, I have a conflict of interest. I will propose substantive changes on this Talk page for review by uninvolved editors. Correction to the history and origin of Venice Tap Water

[edit]

I am Lorenza Cossutta, a disclosed unpaid volunteer contributor and active member of the Venice Tap Water project team. I am requesting this change rather than editing the article directly because of my conflict of interest. The current article identifies Marco Capovilla as the sole founder of Venice Tap Water. A 2026 book by journalist Luca Martinelli provides additional information about the origin of the project. In the appendix “Venice tap water: un racconto di resistenza”, Martinelli describes Venice Tap Water as having begun as an informal group in July 2019 and states: “È stata un’idea di Marco Capovilla e del suo amico Giacomo Pistolato”, following a meeting of the association Generazione '90. I therefore suggest changing the first sentence of the History section to: “Venice Tap Water began as an informal group in July 2019, originating from an idea by Marco Capovilla and Giacomo S. Pistolato following a meeting of the Generazione '90 association.” I also suggest adjusting the lead, which currently identifies Capovilla as the sole founder, so that it is consistent with this source. Suggested reference: [1] I have used “originating from an idea by” rather than “co-founded by” because this follows the wording of the published source closely. I leave the final wording to an uninvolved editor. ~2026-44792-95 (talk) 12:00, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Additional Art Frame source for the Artistic activity section

[edit]

I am Lorenza Cossutta, a disclosed unpaid volunteer contributor and active member of the Venice Tap Water project team. Because I am one of the people interviewed in this source, I am requesting independent review rather than editing the article directly.

I would like to suggest adding a July 2026 article/interview in Art Frame by Alessia Tu as an additional source for the article.

The editorial introduction describes Venice Tap Water as an initiative founded in 2019 that uses interactive maps, data collection on public fountains, urban interventions and communication campaigns. It identifies Lorenza Cossutta and Marco Capovilla as members of the Venice Tap Water team.

The article also provides additional information about the development of the project. Cossutta explains that she had previously worked between 2006 and 2011 with the 100%pubblica collective on public-art interventions concerning tap water, and that she became involved with Venice Tap Water after Capovilla told her about the project at the end of 2025.

The article also includes several photographs credited to Giacomo S. Pistolato and a photograph captioned “Venice Tap Water: Marco Capovilla, Lorenza Cossutta, Giacomo S. Pistolato, 2026, Venice.”

For the “Artistic activity” section, I suggest the following additional sentence:

“In a July 2026 interview with Art Frame, Cossutta and Capovilla described I Pollute Therefore I Am as part of Venice Tap Water's broader work combining mapping, data collection, public-space interventions and visual communication.”

Suggested reference:

The source could also potentially support a brief clarification of Cossutta's involvement in the project's development and provide additional corroboration of Giacomo S. Pistolato's association with Venice Tap Water.

Because much of the article consists of an interview with members of Venice Tap Water, I have distinguished statements made by the interviewees from information presented editorially by Art Frame. I leave the final wording, placement and decision on inclusion to an uninvolved editor. Laurie.cmyk (talk) 12:09, 14 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
