etymology please!
[edit]please do give the explanatory etymology (original meaning) + explanation of all the terms, possibly as footnotes! one understands and learns better (e.g. a word like edaphic; even with latin and greek exams in your baggage you can't see sense in the word without longwinded research...)!!!
