Significant coverage?

[edit]

Article lacks multiple references to significant coverage about Vaughan Hart in reliable independent secondary sources (per WP:GNG). Excluding the University of Bath and publisher website pages and news releases (primary and not independent), most of the references are routine single mentions in websites, publications, catalogues, etc. Only Ref 11 (a book review) gives some focus on Hart. Has he been the subject of profiles in newspapers or journals; are there more reviews of his work that could be included? Paul W (talk) 12:18, 29 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Apparent conflict of interest

[edit]

This article was originally created by User:Absvh in 2007. The user also created an article about Robert Tavernor, a collaborator of Vaughan Hart, in 2012, and signed off a Tavernor-related 24 January 2012 Talk page exchange with User:Bmusician as "Vaughan" (diff). Absvh also edited the Vaughan Hart article in 2012 (I suspect they may also have periodically edited the article without logging in - there were a lot of IP edits) and then started a substantial expansion of the article in April 2026 (when I first noticed the article and felt it needed considerable improvement, so tried to help).

I raised a potential COI on Absvh's Talk page on 27 April 2026, but they did not respond. I then COI-tagged the article on 28 April 2026, only for Absvh to remove the template hours later (diff) without explanation. User:Dl2000 then almost immediately reinstated the COI template, and it remained until 23 May 2026, when User:Absvh removed it again, without leaving an edit summary.

The user appears to be a Single-purpose account mainly devoted to content relating to Vaughan Hart. I will reinstate the COI template as I believe Absvh has a COI and has not made any disclosure. Vaughan Hart is certainly notable and the article appears neutral, but Absvh may have a COI in editing the article, and in adding content to other articles (for example, citing Hart's work in an edit of Robert Byron (travel writer) - diff).
