Variable elimination is an operation that is defined for many other things besides graphical models. There is an analogous operation for arithmetic inequalities (eliminate x from x+y>z) known as Fourier-Motzkin elimination, to give one example.

Either the title of the article should be made more specific, or the article should be made far more general by discussing variable elimination in other contexts besides graphical models.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.92.32.62 (talk) 06:16, 23 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
