Very odd that "Fieldia" redirects here. As an orchid genus it is an illegitimate name (later homonym) with no nomenclatural priority or status except as a synonym and has never had wide usage since its publication. On the other hand the gesneriad genus Fieldia does have nomenclatural priority, is currently accepted and is well-established in the literature. Reichenbach's usage of the genus in transferring two additional orchid species into Fieldia is rather puzzling--an orchid taxonomist may be able to shed more light on that. Vandopsis is presumably a nom. nov. for Fieldia Gaudichaud but neither Tropicos nor IPNI reflect that.
