SPLC

[edit]

Do any of those IP users or brand-new user accounts who keep removing references to the SPLC from the lede want to try to build consensus for the changes they're trying to make?

If you keep making controversial edits over and over again while your edits keep being reverted you'll just be banned or the page will be protected. So make your case here, and build consensus. --ChiveFungi (talk) 13:36, 14 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Interestingly my initial edit was intended to be a bit of a compromise. It had just been edited to say "The Values Voter Summit is hosted by the anti-LGBTQIA hate group Family Research Council" which I felt was treating an accusation as a fact. But I was hesitant to remove the information outright so changed it to say what group alleged this. That the SPLC does allege this is factual and how one feels about that can vary, see Southern Poverty Law Center#Controversies_over_hate_group_and_extremist_listings or Family_Research_Council#2012_shooting_incident. Whether SPLC's views matter I'm not totally sure of, but their reaction does seem to influence how more Left-wing media respond to the subject. Still considering Antifa (United States) does not mention Right-leaning criticism in the lead might make me think the hate group thing should maybe not be in the lead either. I'll test moving it.--T. Category:Conservative organisations in the United States

[edit]

Should this group be included in Category:Conservative organisations in the United States? Or is a better fit for Category:Conservatism in the United States? Matthew J. Long -Talk- 18:25, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

It's a conference, not an organization. I would put it in Category:Conservatism in the United States. Lionel(talk) 11:41, 19 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
