Originally when I wrote this article I assumed valorisation was a uniquely Marxian concept. However, I have since learnt that there are other modern uses of the term valorisation. Possibly therefore, the article should be renamed "valorisation of capital" to distinguish this kind of valorisation from other kinds. User:Jurriaan 1 May 2007

This is definitely the case. I first encountered the term long before I was familiar with details of Marxism and it was not in a Marxist context. 72.228.189.184 (talk) 02:31, 30 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Valorisation, in its modern sense, is an oddity in English in that it is a perfectly good English word that is rarely understood in English-speaking countries, but commonly understood when folk in mainland European countries choose to communicate between themselves in English Brownturkey (talk) 13:58, 19 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

valorisation - valorization

[edit]

Both spellings have their supporters, although I personal prefer the (OED) -ization spelling. The article should, however, chose for the one or the other. Everybody got to be somewhere! (talk) 19:25, 7 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

This article now links to w:de:Valorisation, but it should link to the Marxist use of w:de:Verwertung, i.e. w:de:Verwertung#Karl Marx. I don't know how to fix this (via Wikidata). Can anyone please help.
