Orphaned references in Uzi

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Uzi's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference Photos

Hello

The main article photo, as well as the one titled "Uzi with folding stock", are both semi-automatic versions licensed to a US retailer (Action Arms LTF) and sold to the public. Im not sure any of the pics are actual original military UZI's from IMI. MI tried finding some public domain pictures but with no success. Ive swapped the main pic to one in the wikimedia which while im not sure where it is from, I do know its not a US version. If anyone could get some photos of actual Israeli versions it would be a good upgrade. Oemurray (talk) 10:00, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

Speaking of which, if anyone can find more reference pictures of the Prototype Uzi Pro that only accepts what looks like Glock magazines, please do. Sadly, the only two images I have are from one website and another is a photograph of a page from The Uzi Submachine Gun Examined by David Gaboury. https://twitter.com/Southwood_/status/899966685754515456 This weapon is proving to be tedious and elusive in terms of reference images. Value of UZI SMGs on the collector's market from COI

Posting this here as I have a COI with the cited source. The article makes mention of civilian UZI SMGs on the collector's market, so the current values may be of interest. There are 2 listed here that sold on GunBroker.com: https://www.gunbroker.com/c/article/19-most-expensive-guns-sold-on-gunbroker-september-2024/. Item # 11 was sold for $21,750.00 USD on 19 September 2024, and Item # 10 was sold for $29,000.00 USD on 29 September 2024 LoVeloDogs (talk) 22:31, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

Specifically, the section I mentioned where value may be of interest is under ==Civilian Variants==, Uzi Carbine:

"The American firm Group Industries made limited numbers of a copy of the Uzi "B" model semiauto carbine for sale in the US along with copies of the Uzi submachine gun for the U.S. collectors' market."

I've reinstated it -- it is absolutely relevant and useful information for a paragraph that specifically deals with the variant's collectors status and rarity due to laws about the transferability of machine guns. The concern about becoming dated is easily mitigated by updating if and when average prices change -- hence the "as of" indicator. The COI was properly declared as well, after a year in the article post-request, there's both explicit and implicit consensus for its inclusion.⇒SWATJester ^{Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat!} 07:59, 4 September 2025 (UTC)

Users

The map accompanying this section shows the UK as an Uzi using state. The text doesn't explain this, and I'm not aware of any use of this weapon by the military or police there (though obviously, special forces have access to pretty much any weaponry they want). It would obviously be impossible for a member of the public to possess one of these weapons legally given UK firearms legislation. Ef80 (talk) 20:29, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

When @TruncateVirus99: added the map image, the United Kingdom was listed as issuing Uzis to tank crew during the Gulf war. Though this claim was since removed, the map remains as was. A new map needs to replace the old, the map needs to be dynamically generated from data, or it needs to be removed. Fred Gandt · talk · contribs 21:50, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
