I have removed this sentence "There is still talk of re-opening the Uttoxeter Canal and perhaps even extending it to Burton upon Trent, but this is unlikely to happen due to future extensions of the nearby railway line ^{[citation needed]}." as it seems to be an opinion, and have tried to explain the situation instead, from a neutral point of view.
