Title significance
[edit]"Up the junction" is British, or at least London, slang for "fucked". I don't know if this usage predates the novel, but it is used in this sense in the Squeeze song in 1979. This info would make an interesting addition to the article if anybody can find suitable references, which I can't. --Ef80 (talk) 20:51, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
I always thought that "up the junction" was a sly reference to sexual intercourse and perhaps childbirth, two of the principal topics of the song. Not sure if this is true or not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.88.96.120 (talk) 02:15, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
