exacerbates wheel control

My '87 Honda Civic DX bounces its front wheels when accelerating hard at low speed in a tight turn. This is clearly not a safety issue but it is annoying. David R. Ingham 06:51, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's a dynamic instability, rather similar to axle tramp. Usual OEM solution is to retune the engine mounts or add a damper to the engine. Greglocock 08:03, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Diagram Error

The diagram illustrating sprung weight and unsprung weight does not agree with the text. The text says the unsprung weight "is the mass of the suspension, wheels or tracks (as applicable), and other components directly connected to them". Effects of unsprung mass error

The statement "In contrast, a heavier wheel which moves less will not absorb as much vibration" is incorrect, as is the conclusion that more vibratoin will be transferred to the cabin. The first part is right, on short bumps the heavier wheel will move less but it will absorb MORE vibration and will transfer LESS to the frame.
