I've translated the Unserdeutsch prayer from the German edition page, expanded the article by a few sentences, imported some further reading from the German page and added a template. Can the stub notice be removed? 5th Angel 21:40, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

This article needs more

While it's true that there is very little linguistic information on this language, I believe that this article should have more content. Seeing as it's one of two (or possibly three) German creoles with Namibian Black German, it is quite significant. Its genesis is also interesting, having not evolved from the "typical" situation of children grammaticalizing a pidgin. The University of Köln link provides many useful articles for the history and grammar of the language; most of the information was gathered by Craig Volker in the 70s and 80s, it seems. German translation:

"Ich bezeuge, o mein Gott, dass du mich geschaffen hast, dass ich dich erkenne und zu dir bete. Ich bezeuge in diesem Moment meine Schwäche und deine Macht, meine Armut und deinen Reichtum. English:

"I bear witness, O my God, that Thou hast created me to know Thee and to worship Thee. I testify, at this moment, to my powerlessness and to Thy might, to my poverty and to Thy wealth. There is none other God but Thee, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting."

Using the Bahai Prayer is a strange strange idea. I do not believe for a single second that Selbstbestehender is part of common Unserdeutsch, nor do I think that it should be part of an example, even if somebody coined a term in Unserdeutsch by means of relexification. -- Zz (talk) 16:52, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

Possessive Form

Added a small correction of the possessive form originating from German (WITHOUT apostrophe) versus English (WITH apostrophe). As “Papas Wäsche” ist perfect standard German, it makes hardly sense calling “papas waesche” ‘English-based’. — Wassermaus (talk) 09:33, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Also der Satz mit dem Boot, da sei Boot wohl Englisch-basiert , genauso wie Jungs. Das ergibt für mich keinen Sinn.

Und unter Grammatik hat es wohl etwas Vandalismus gegeben, da steht was von EU-Krieg 93.138.220.246 (talk) 01:22, 19 August 2025 (UTC)

Sorry, das war mein Browser, der hat einfach die englische Version automatisch sehr schlecht und falsch ins Deutsche übersetzt, und dann würde aus "EU war" "EU-Krieg"
