I have a conflict of interest as I am affiliated with Unispace and am therefore not editing the article directly.

I am requesting an independent editor review of a proposed revision to the article's lead to improve factual precision and alignment with the cited sources.

The current lead states that Unispace “was awarded a total of £680m of PPE contracts.” The Guardian article cited in the references reports that a “founder" of Unispace, whose name is redacted but alluded to as Gareth Hales, contacted government officials during early COVID-19 procurement efforts, but also states that the PPE contracts were later transferred to another firm founded by Hales, Santé Global LLP. The reporting does not state that Unispace manufactured or supplied the PPE.

Independent business and industry publications describe Unispace as a global design and construction firm specializing in workplace and office interiors, with a broad international footprint. The Australian Financial Review and other industry outlets report that Unispace was acquired by PAG in 2021, with the founding shareholders, including Hale,les, exiting the business following the sale.

“Unispace is a global design and construction firm specializing in office interiors and workplace environments, providing integrated design-and-build services for commercial clients across multiple regions. Independent industry publications describe Unispace as an international workplace design firm with a broad geographic footprint.

In 2021, the company was acquired by PAG, with the founding shareholders exiting the business following the sale.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Guardian reported that a founder of Unispace contacted Michael Gove in March 2020 from a Unispace email address regarding the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE). The contracts referenced in that reporting were later transferred to another firm, Santé Global LLP, and The Guardian reporting does not state that Unispace manufactured or supplied PPE.

The Guardian and The Times have also reported that former founders of Unispace had links to the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church; those individuals are no longer involved in the company following its acquisition by PAG with the original founders selling their shares and interests in the company.”
