(Mystical union)

[edit]

What happened to the concept of mystical union? The page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muraqaba links here via the word union.

Trade union

[edit]

"Trade union" is listed under "Politics". Is that correct? Kennard2 00:48, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

While its placement there may not be inaccurate, it does seem a bit silly and out of touch. Surely it's what's meant by enough clicks to this page to warrant dropping that link into the LEAD> MrZaiustalk 10:51, 23 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Since no one has objected to your suggestion in over five years, I've been BOLD and moved the Trade union entry, as well as the other entries on the page for types of union that warrant specific definition in Wiktionary (i.e.: union (set theory), union (plumbing) and marriage), to the top (after the lede and before the sections) in the same order as they are on Wiktionary (i.e.: by level of usage), based on the idea that since they can be called "union" without clarification in everyday usage (hence lexicographic inclusion), they are what people are most likely to be searching for in an encyclopedia.

Education

[edit]

I was thinking there was a West-coast "Union something" seminary; there is, but it is called Graduate Theological Union, and i think it is far more clearly outside the scope of the Dab page than are some other doubtful ones in the education section.

Relationship

[edit]

Why is there no article on unions as in relationships? --عبد المؤمن (talk) 14:36, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Added Marriage to the top of the list of entries.

[edit]

With some flag designs (e.g. the flag of the United States), the canton is also known as the "union". So, I would like to add the link to the article lede for "Canton (flag)", in which this is also mentioned.

However, the general style of this DAB seems to be to have "union" in the article name linked. So I wanted to pipe it as "Union (flag)".

Alas, the DAB editnotice says "Do not pipe entry names" as per the DAB Dos-and-Don'ts.

In this situation, should one just put the article name as-is anyway, key word consistency be damned? If not, what is the recommended solution?

Many thanks! NebulaofCats (talk) 00:28, 17 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

You can either add "Canton (flag), also known as a union, part of a flag" or create the redirect "Union (flag), part of a flag". FYI, MOS:DABMENTION applies here. Clarityfiend (talk) 03:23, 17 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
