Needs a good source. The current one is quite old and the modern economy has changed in some ways.
Anecdotally, unbundling is quite harmful to me as a consumer. It's one of the ways booking airline tickets has become such a pain as an individual, being asked for 14 different upcharges and dealing with flight credit chasing.
It seems to be one of the ways inflation is being expressed in the current economy - "we don't include that anymore" when a consumer might be under the impression something is included without reading all of the fine print, which is not always practical.
